Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (NAVISTAR) (8-5) - Son of 'Union Rags' cost $900,000 as a 2-year-old in training this past March. Brought along slowly by trainer Todd Pletcher, he's making his second start this afternoon. Colt finished a pace-chasing 2nd when debuting at Belmont Park going 6.5 furlongs Oct. 20. Training steadily at Palm Beach Downs for this attempt, he'll be tough with normal second out improvement.
nd pick: #10 (Locomotion) (5-1) - WinStar runner broke slowly and raced evenly when finishing fourth when debuting at this level and distance Nov. 10 at Churchill Downs. He runs first off a private trainer change to Bill Mott and draws a fine outside post for this distance.
rd pick: #9 (Master Manipulator) (6-1) - Colt has been freshened up since being over-matched in the Champagne Stakes (G1) at Belmont Oct. 7. He had missed by a 1/2 length here in his previous start and is back in with fellow maidens for this attempt.
th pick: #5 (Personal Time) (20-1) - Longshot raced both wide and evenly when debuting at this level and distance Oct 7 at Belmont. The winner that day scored by almost 12 lengths so this son of 'Malibu Moon' wasn't far out of the place spot. Working above average, the patient 'Shug' McGaughey has Irad Ortiz Jr. aboard.
th pick: #6 (Shanghai Schwartz) (15-1) - Another longshot, grey colt raced wide and evenly when debuting here July 2. Given plenty of time to grow and mature, he's working fast an is in a capable barn (Pat Biancone).
