Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (SNIPER SHOT) (2-1) - A very lightly raced gelding by 'Shackleford,' he's won two of three starts and is a 'nose' short of being undefeated. He was an easy winner by four lengths facing weaker here Jan. 17 while going six furlongs in what was his first start since early April of last year. Working fast, the Pletcher barn moves him up in class, and has him trying a seven-furlong trip for the first time.
2nd pick: #7 (Royal Squeeze) (5-1) - One of several with a lot of experience, this 11-time winner has been freshened up for the past two months. A stakes winner here at this distance on 'Claiming Crown Day' (Dec. 7), speed/stalker has an outstanding local record, nine for 19, and is six for 14 at this distance.
3rd pick: #8 (Mihos) (4-1) - A stakes winner here going a mile in Jan. of 2019, he hasn't won in five starts since then. He rallied to finish 3rd here at this level going six furlongs March 26 in his first race in six months and is brought back quickly by trainer Jimm Jerkens. A fast and/or contested pace would help his stretch running style out.
