Quick from the gate, he's working fast at the Palm Meadows Center, takes a huge drop here, and Rivelli has won with 10 of 21 (43%) off of long layoffs since Jan. 1 of 2019. To add to the pluses, Irad Ortiz, Jr. is aboard.
2nd pick: #9 (Awesome Action) (9-2) - This lightly raced 4yo finished a pace-setting 2nd at this tag and trip March 22. He runs first off a Gil Zerpa claim (15 of 46, 33%, in 2019-20), is working fast, and has blinkers on. A very strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Deckology) (4-1) - This gelding takes a big drop while shortening up in distance. He was eased last out going a mile facing much tougher, and he's been competitive in three of his four prior sprints. In the mix.
4th pick: #11 (Moon Pistol) (12-1) - Longshot has had several good attempts facing tougher while sprinting, but his outside post isn't a plus and may limit this 5yo by 'Malibu Moon' to a minor award at a big price.
5th pick: #10 (Bolt) (20-1) - Fast from the gate, he switches back to the dirt after tiring in his last pair on the turf. His figures are on the low side, so he's another that may get a small slice at a big price.
