Top pick: #6 (FORT MORGAN) (3-1) - He's finished second in both starts here this winter, each coming at this level. Gelding by "War Chant" missed by a neck on Jan. 6, then had a very wide trip while rallying to finish a distant second last out. He faced a much tougher group that afternoon and can beat this crew with his best.
2nd pick: #1 (Third Martini) (4-1) - Grey gelding by "Mizzen Mst" hasn't raced since finishing 6th of 11, beaten just under 6 lengths on June 9th at Belmont when facing special weights. Trainer Lind Rice has him working well above average and will drop him into a claimer for the first time.
3rd pick: #11 (Acadian Connection) (8-1) - Lightly-raced colt chased and weakened last out racing for a $75K tag on Feb. 6. Race was his first since early Sept. at saratoga and trainer Larry Pilotti will drop him to a new low.
4th pick: #4 (Arion Silver) (12-1) - Sharp barn (Mike Pino) claimed him for $25K when he debuted in a dirt sprint here on Feb. 10. They bring him back four weeks later with a shift to the grass, a stretch-out in distance, and with both blinkers and lasix added.
