2nd pick: #9 (Run Smart One) - Lightly-raced colt by "Smarty Jones" ships here from the mid-Atlantic region where he had a fine season (14-5-2-4) and he's been improving since a claim by Mike Pino in early June. Win threat.
3rd pick: #4 (Polar Star) - Runs first off a Pete Walder claim (a 28% winning angle). A bit cheaper than the top pair, veteran had a good season at Calder last year (16-5-3-2) but almost all came against weaker. Brings a strong closing punch to a race wher the pace could be fast/contested. Contender.
