Top pick: #4 (IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT) (5-2) - Speedy filly has been competitive in all four starts and comes off a career best at Aqueduct on Nov. 10 when she set/pressed a quick pace and held gamely to finish second, three lengths clear of a next-out winner. Home-bred is training nicely on the deep main-track at Payson Park and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #5 (Varisimo) (5-1) - Grey filly hasn't raced in almost a year when she tired after setting a pressured pace here at this level when debuting on Jan. 15 of 2012. Daughter of "Unbridled's Song" is working fast at Palm Meadows for trainer Todd Pletcher and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (Adream) (8-1) - Newly turned 5-year-old has only made one start, setting a fast pace and tiring at Monmouth on July 21st of last year. Mare by "Bernardini" is in a capable barn (Allen Iwinski) and can impact at long odds.
4th pick: #8 (Anychanceatadance) (3-1) - She's from the same barn (Todd Pletcher) as "Varisimo" and the two fillies race uncoupled. Home-bred by "Scat Daddy" had a sharp half-mile gate breeze at Palm Meadows on Dec. 24 and she should be a square price.
