Top pick: #4 (ONE EYED CANDYRIDE) (8-5) - Lightly-raced gelding finished second here at this tag going 7-furlongs on Jan. 23. It was his first off a Jane Cibelli claim and by far a career best. Barn has worked him since and he should have no problem with the shorter trip. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #2 (Karfagen) (5-1) - Speedy colt enters off a wire-to-wire maiden win her at this distance Jan. 15. Claimed for $12.5K that afternoon by veteran Chuck Simon, he's freshened him up a bit. Fla. bred is the speed nearest the rail and that makes him a strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (T Minus) (7-2) - He chased and weakened to finish 4th going a mile on the grass facing tougher Jan. 29. It was his first off a Norm Pointer claim and he'll drop him in class, switch him from turf to dirt, and shorten him up in distance.
4th pick: #7 (Havermeyer Street) (10-1) - Longshot has shown little in three starts since winning his debut last October at Belmont. Gelding ran evenly last out while never involved in a two-turn grass race and is moving back to dirt and cutting back in distance. May grab a minor award at a big price.
