Top pick: #2 (FRENCHMAN BAY) (7-2) - Colt enters off a third place finish here going 8.5-furlongs at this level Jan. 17th. It was his first since debuting in early August at Saratoga. $360K son of 'Super Saver' Had a tough outside post last out and also was bumped heavily at the break. He draws a much better slot, has worked three times since his latest, and is making back-to-back starts for the first time.
2nd pick: #8 (Jambles) (4-1) - He ran evenly when debuting here going a one-turn mile on Jan. 8th. $250,000 son of 'Quality Road' was bumped at the start in that contest. Trainer Todd Pletcher has worked him since and stretches him out in distance. Barn wins at a 21% rate second time out, and Castellano is back on the re-ride.
3rd pick: #3 (Gold Shield) (3-1) - Son of 'Medaglia d'Oro' cost a cool $1,000,000 as a yearling back in Sept. of 2013. He's been competitive in one of his three starts and has been unraced since Oct. 30th. Working nicely, and colt is bred to love this 1 1/8th mile distance.
4th pick: #1 (My High Roller) (10-1) - Longshot raced evenly here going a mile on Jan. 8th. He showed a bit of speed in that contest, and $650K son of 'Bernardini' draws the rail. Can factor at a big price.
