Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #9 (NOBLE ALMA) (3-1) - This lightly raced 4yo finished 2nd here at this level and distance March 6 in his first start in just four days shy of a year. Home-bred by 'Lemon Drop Kid' probably needed the effort, has worked since, and she meets a field with several first-time-starters. I give her a slight edge.
2nd pick: #4 (First Wave) (5-2) - Away from action since Oct. 12, this daughter of 'War Front' missed by a 'neck' at this level going 5.5 furlongs July 13 at Saratoga in her only previous turf sprint. Home-bred has been in steady training at the Palm Meadows Center for her return and is a strong win candidate if ready.
3rd pick: #8 (Mane Attraction) (12-1) - She moves back to the turf after tiring badly going a mile for a $75K claiming tag in an 'off the turf' contest Feb. 16. 3yo missed by just over three lengths in three straight grass sprints prior to that and is capable of factoring at a square price.
4th pick: #2 (Fast Catalina) (15-1) - Home-bred received some betting support (5-1) debuting here at this level in a dirt sprint on March 8. She tired after rushing up after a troubled break and has since come back with a bullet five-furlong local breeze in 00:59 flat March 20. 3yo must be left in the mix.
