Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (PLEASANT ORB) (2-1) - It's interesting that her connections thought enough of this filly to nominate her to this year's Triple Crown events. She's finished 2nd in both starts, the latest coming here at this level and distance Feb. 23. Home bred by 'Orb' has worked three times since, draws a nice outside post at this one-turn mile, and I like her chances.
2nd pick: #3 (Emma Rose) (6-1) - A home bred by 'Bernardini,' she raced both wide and evenly finishing 5th of 12, beaten by eight lengths when debuting here at this level going 6.5 furlongs Feb. 23. Trainer Ken McPeek, 14% second time out, stretches her out to a mile (15%), and she enters off an above average five-furlong breeze March 14.
3rd pick: #2 (Sneer) (3-1) - Competitive in both starts at Tampa Bay Downs, she missed by a 1/2-length going 8.5 furlongs when debuting there in an 'off the turf' contest Jan. 4. In her follow up at nine furlongs on the grass Feb. 15, she tired to miss by five lengths as the 3-2 favorite. Trainer Chris Clement brings her here and has Paco Lopez aboard. The pair has won with sevnen of 27 (26%) when teamed up in 2019-20.
4th pick: #6 (So Darn Hot) (5-1) - This daughter of 'Ghostzapper' sold for $600,000 as a 2yo in training last Spring. She debuts for George Weaver, 19% first out off a steady series of works at the Palm Beach Downs Center dating back to Jan 23. She's dangerous if ready.
