Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #9 (L PRESSURE ZONE) (3-1) - This filly is one of two debuting for Chad Brown, and they race as separate betting interests. She was purchased as a yearling for $850,000 in August of 2018 and has been in steady training on the deep surface at the Payson Park Center. Brown has won at an excellent 25% rate with first-time-starters going a mile or longer, and this filly draws a nice outside post. Javier Castellano is aboard.
2nd pick: #2 (Risk Model) (7-2) - The other of the Chad Brown-trained fillies, this daughter of 'Into Mischief' sold for $390,000 as a 2yo in training last April. She has similar drills at Payson Park as her barn-mate, and leading rider Irad Ortiz, Jr. is signed on.
3rd pick: #7 (Pleasant Orb) (4-1) - This home bred by 'Orb' finished a pace-chasing 2nd when debuting at seven furlongs Aug. 25 at Ellis Park. Unraced since, she runs off a private trainer change to Barclay Tagg and has some very fast works showing at the Palm Meadows Center. As an interesting note, this filly has been nominated to the Triple Crown series.
4th pick: #5 (Spartanka) (9-2) - She rallied to finish 2nd here, going seven furlongs Jan. 26. It produced a career-best figure, and her experience in this lightly raced group is a plus.
