Top pick: #1 (SOUPERFAST) (5-1) - One of two entered by trainer Bill Mott and the pair race uncoupled. Daughter of "Broken Vow" has early speed, draws the inside post, goes dirt to turf, and will be tying the grass for the first time. Bred for the surface and she'll be a square price.
nd pick: #4 (Picozza) (5-2) - The probable favorite, Pletcher-trained colt ran second here at this level and distance Jan. 1 and the winner finished second here yesterday in his first facing winners. Son of "More Than Ready" should be involved from start-to-finish and is a strong win candidate.
rd pick: #10 (Conquest Top Gun) (8-1) - Colt by "Pioneer of the Nile" cost $525,000 last spring and finished 3rd of 12, beaten three lengths when debuting on the Woodbine "poly" going 7-furlongs Nov. 15. Nice effort and he had a bullet 5-furlong breeze on the Palm Meadows turf Jan. 24.
th pick: #7 (Recall Dynaformer) (15-1) - Home-bred has had some problems in both starts at this meet and probably has more talent than shown to date. In a very good Canadian-based barn (Roger Attfield) and colt may grab a share at a big price.
th pick: #9 (Tourist) (6-1) - The second of the Mott pair, he has some speed and will be racing on the grass for the first time. Bred for the surface and he's another who may impact at a big price.
