Top pick: #8 (COTTONTAIL) (5-2) - The probable favorite, he comes off a pair of second-place finishes at this tag and they came off almost a six month layoff and an important trainer upgrade to Jay Servis. The horse to beat.
nd pick: #1 (Powers That Be) (12-1) - He ran very poorly in his latest, but speedster draws the rail and gets the services of a very underrated jockey (Tammy Piermarini). This colt was less than a length off of "Cottontail" two back and his speed makes him dangerous.
rd pick: #7 (A.P. Cino) (5-1) - He's raced evenly while finishing fourth in two straight here when facing tougher. He's racing into shape following a pair of layoffs and is a strong factor today.
th pick: #11 (Marine Park) (6-1) - He's rallied to finish second in both starts facing tougher at Calder late in the summer and did so after breaking poorly. Drops, but draws a tough post and needs an alert getaway for any shot at the top prize.
th pick: #3 (Baby Champ) (10-1) - Believe he's a minor player as he ships from Tampa whee he's picked up small slices in three straight. Gelding has some speed and will be sending hard with apprentice Zayas aboard.
