Top pick: #7 (DETERMINATO) (5-2) - He's returned from a 5 1/2 month layoff with a pair of impressive wins here at this 5 furlong distance. He draws a nice outside post and doesn't necessarily need the early lead to be victorious. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #6 (Dreaming of Nemo) (3-1) - Very lightly raced 4-year-old comes off a career best when he set a quick and pressured pace and held gamely to finish third here at this level going 6 furlongs on the dirt Feb. 6. This will be his first grass attempt, but a blazing 5-furlong bullet work on Feb. 24 suggests that he'll have little difficulty making the transition.
3rd pick: #1 (Fast Time) (4-1) - He was involved from the start in the same Jan. 25 contest won by "Determinato" and held gamely to finish second. Solid effort came in his second off an eight month break and he's been working fast since.
4th pick: #4 (Mel Beach) (6-1) - He wasn't far off of both "Determinato" and "Fast Time" on Jan. 25 in his first race since Sept. 22. He has a good closing kick and will get a fast/and or contested pace to rally into.
