Top pick: #4 (ENDOWMENT MANAGER) (2-1) - Colt has finished second in all four of his sprint tries and did so here Dec. 13 at this level and distance despite a slow start. He's worked well since and was scratched out of a longer contest a week ago. Speedy 3-year-old is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #6 (Rachel's Quest) (8-1) - Son of "Malibu Moon" finished last when debuting at Monmouth on June 2nd. Colt was bet down to favoritism that afternoon and raced evenly. He had a huge half-mile work at Palm Meadows on Dec. 31 and looks well-prepared for his return to action.
3rd pick: #1 (Storm Viper) (5-1) - Longshot ran second here at this level in a dirt sprint on Nov. 10, then raced both evenly and wide sprinting on the grass Dec. 22. He's worked fast here on Jan. 12 and draws the rail. Price play in the same race exotic bets.
4th pick: #3 (Anchor Down) (3-1) - One of two making their debuts and this grey son of "Tapit" is in the Pletcher barn (23% first out). Working fine and this colt sold for $250K as a Keeneland yearling back in the fall of 2012.
