Top pick: #12 (BATTLE RED) (2-1) - The obvious choice, he's finished second in five of his six starts including all three on the grass. Speed/stalker draws a very difficult outside post in a race that starts almost on the clubhouse turn. He'll either be sent hard or will try and rate a bit. The top pick, but make sure you reverse your exactas.
2nd pick: #3 (Totzke) (8-1) - Longshot has some speed and gets the addition of Lasix while having his blinkers removed. Working well and the capable barn of Josie Carroll has him making back-to-back starts for the first time.
3rd pick: #4 (Awesome Traum) (12-1) - Another longshot, he's been freshened up since late October. He showed some speed and talent at that time. Working steadily for his return and a threat if ready.
4th pick: #5 (Rimbaud) (6-1) - Nicely bred colt rallied to finish fourth here on Dec. 20. He was three back of "Battle Red" that day in his first ever on the turf. Home bred by "Bernardini" must be left in the mix.
5th pick: #1 (Bollente) (10-1) - Expensive colt was well backed when debuting in late July on the Del Mar turf. He showed nothing following a slow start but is working nicely and draws the rail. Don't just ignore him.
