Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (CANDY SIOUX) (3-1) - Filly is lightly raced and like most entered is well bred. Daughter of 'Indian Charlie' just missed when debuting at Laurel Nov 21. In her follow up start here Jan 8, she tired to finish 'off the board' after chasing a solid pace. Trainer Mike Matz has her making back-to-back starts for the first time and has John Vwlazquez interested.
2nd pick: #3 (Cafetiere) (4-1) - Daughter of 'Elusive Quality' has been on the sidelines since last March. She has early speed and was competitive at that time in two races at Santa Anita. Filly has a new trainer in Michell Nevin who is 20% with new arrivals to her barn and she's had this 4-year-old breeze a half-dozen times since Jan 5. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (Liberty Road) (5-2) - She was a bit disappointing here going a mile at this level Feb 5. 4-year-old by 'Quality Road' chased, bid, then weakened to check in third that afternoon. However, it was her second back from a three month layoff and she should be set for her best. If you 'toss' her two races on a sloppy track, her record is 5-0-2-3 with all of them coming here in sprints. Must be left in the win mix.
4th pick: #6 (Novique) (5-1) - Well bet when debuting here on a sloppy surface Jan 28, she tired after racing close up early. Trainer Bob Ribaudo brings her back quickly and Javier Castellano stays aboard.
