Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (RAG TAG) (4-1) - One of two entered that were nominated for this year's Triple Crown series, he's working fast at the Palm Beach Downs Center for his first since April 28. Colt finished second debuting in a Keeneland sprint that day and he's from the barn of Todd Pletcher. He wins at a 31% rate off of long layoffs, 23% second-time out, 24% on a distance increase, and John Velazquez is aboard. Lots to like.
2nd pick: #1 (Mr Philly Dilly) (5-2) - Speedy colt has finished second in both sprints, the latest coming here Jan. 11. He's worked fast since, is stretching out to a mile, and is making back-to-back starts for the first time. An obvious contender
3rd pick: #6 (Tons of Gold) (8-1) - The other Triple Crown nominee cuts back to a one-turn mile after an even and troubled 4th place finish here going 8.5 furlongs Jan 25. He had run much better at this distance in his previous pair and is dangerous at a square price.
4th pick: #3 (Attachment Rate) (7-2) - Colt by 'Hard Spun' rallied from far back into a fast pace to miss by just under a length going 7 furlongs here Jan. 25. He stretches out to a mile in his 2nd back following a 7-month layoff and must be left in the mix.
