Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #12 (PLAN OF ATTACK) (3-1) - Homebred has some early speed and is taking a big drop for this attempt. 3yo by 'War Front' was gelded Jan. 1 and dropped into a $50K claimer three days later. He set a very fast pace before tiring but meets a very weak field and can break his maiden if able to avoid a wide trip from his marooned post.
2nd pick: #7 (Muhlenberg) (7-2) - He's rallied to finish fourth in his last pair both for a $25K price tag. 3yo earned a career-best figure last out and drops down to today's $$16K tag for the first time. A serious-looking player.
3rd pick: #5 (Fayez) (6-1) - Colt is making start 13 in search of his maiden win. Even-paced type finished third at this level and distance just 15 days ago and did so from a tough post (11 of 12). He draws better and is capable of getting a share.
4th pick: #4 (Bee Major) (6-1) - Tough call as he had no chance when carried out in the first turn debuting at Belterra Park facing special weights at this distance on the grass Sept. 7. Bet down to 7-5 favoritism that day, he was sold privately after that by breeder Calumet Farm and runs today off a trainer change to John Mazza and with a big drop in class.
