Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (HIGHER AUTHORITY) (8-5) - Lightly raced 4yo finished second here at this level and distance Dec. 12 in his first back from a series of layoffs. Given almost a 9 week break since his latest, the high-percentage barn of Jay Servis has leading rider Irad Ortiz Jr back on the re-ride and I like this one's chances.
2nd pick: #6 (Red Mule) (7-2) - On the sidelines since late November, he runs today off a private trainer switch to Jorge Navarro. This 4yo has efforts during 2019 that make him a serious threat if ready off the 10-week freshening.
3rd pick: #8 (Ohanzee) (6-1) - State bred has been idle since March 16 when he had a terrible trip here going a mile in his grass debut. A NEW gelding, he's in a claimer for Jane Cibelli who is having an outstanding meet 46-9-5-4 (20%). Speedy sort must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #1 (Oroscopo) (6-1) - Speedy 5yo has the rail and checked in third here Dec. 19 at this tag and trip. He was almost 3 back of 'Higher Authority', but unlike that rival he has little room for upside after 13 starts. Believe a minor award is his ceiling.
