Veteran rallied to win a sprint stakes here for fellow Fla-breds Dec. 6th and has been working fast for this attempt. Nicely spotted, has the rail, and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #2 (Alaco Castle) (3-1) - Since late October, this old-timer has gone 4-2-2-0. He just missed here facing tougher going 7-furlongs Jan. 9th. That was his best overall since the summer and it came first off a Pete Walder claim. Contender.
3rd pick: #7 (Ravelo's Boy) (6-1) - Once classier type is working very fast at Palm Meadows for his first race since early Nov. Former stakes performer has a strong closing kick and is a threat if he runs to his a.m. drills.
4th pick: #3 (Dreaming of Joey) (8-1) - Very fast from the gate, he was an easy wire-to-wire winner here facing weaker at this distance Jan. 4th. By far a career best, he completed the 6-furlongs in a snappy 1:09.80. Can't be eliminated.
