The high percentage barn of Saffie Joseph, Jr. drops him down to a $25K claiming price while shortening him up in distance. I give this son of 'More Than Ready' a small edge.
2nd pick: #4 (Weekend Dreamer) (7-2) - The probable favorite, he missed by a 'neck' here at this level and distance March 19. It was his second following a claim by Emmet Jolley for $25K Jan. 9, and it was his first ever on the grass. Speedy gelding is an obvious contender.
3rd pick: #6 (Uno baby Bird) (8-1) - Colt has sharp, early speed and is trying the grass for the first time. He's cut out :45 and change half-mile in three of his four starts and should be involved from gate-to-wire at a square price.
4th pick: #9 (Violent Fight) (5-1) - A $110,000 son of 'Violence,' he raced both wide and evenly when debuting here at this distance for a $50K price tag April 2. Back in two weeks, trainer Mark Casse (18% second time out), drops his price in half, and this colt can factor if able to break better and avoid a wide trip.
