Trainer Chris Clement, 17% off of long layoffs, switches him to the dirt (20%), and his outside post and the presence of Joel Roasrio are both pluses.
2nd pick: #6 (Maine) (7-2) - A $475,000 son of 'American Pharoah,' he tired after setting a quick pace debuting here going a mile on the grass Jan. 18. Trainer John Servis, 24% second time out, has given him a bit over two months to recover and will add blinkers (23%) while cutting him back in distance (19%). A win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Boss on the Horizon) (6-1) - On the sidelines since late October, this 3yo by 'Street Boss' returns as a NEW gelding. He tired badly in both sprints at Keeneland, one each on turf and dirt, but flashed solid early speed in both and has worked a half-dozen times at the Palm Meadows Center since Feb. 3.
4th pick: #3 (Shared Legacy) (6-1) - The field's most experienced maiden has been on the sidelines since tiring here going 7.5 furlongs Jan. 2. Stalker had some efforts last Fall in Kentucky that make him a threat in this lightly raced group.
