Top pick: #3 (JUBA) (2-1) - Grey colt just missed here at this level on Feb. 4. It was his first race since last January and he was bet down to 6-5 favoritism. Four-year-old son of "Tapit" has worked since and gets the addition of blinkers. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #7 (Highland Boy) (6-1) - Debuting 4-year-old by "Empire Maker" has been in steady training at Palm Meadows since late December. Colt is in a capable barn (Michelle Nevin) and draws a nice outside post at this 6.5-furlong distance.
3rd pick: #6 (Greyfell) (4-1) - Grey gelding is racing third back from a 2 1/2 month freshening. Trainer "Scooter" Dickey switches him from turf to dirt and shortens him up in distance. He's raced evenly in his return pair on the grass and has been competitive on the dirt in the past.
4th pick: #2 (Try Flying) (7-2) - Colt is another going turf to dirt. He's shown some ability in three of his four starts and is racing on conventional dirt for the first time. It's a plus that John Velazquez is back on the re-ride.
