Top pick: #2 (OLD MOUNTIAIN LANE) (2-1) - Colt was originally one of two entered by trainer Todd Pletcher. He scratched his other runner to let this $520K son of "War Front" go it alone. He rallied to just miss here at this level going 7-furlongs Dec. 7. Promising sort has worked four times since and should enjoy this longer trip.
2nd pick: #4 (Thirtysevenliveson) (10-1) - Expensive colt moves back in with fellow maidens after being over-matched in late November at Aqueduct in the "Remsen" stakes (G2). $675K son of "Giant's Causeway" had run well in his previous pair and just missed at this distance in early Oct at Keeneland.
3rd pick: #6 (Cold Spice) (6-1) - Calumet runner is training well for his first race since early fall. Colt by "Tiznow" ran well in both starts back then on the grass and is racing on real dirt for the first time. His recent morning breezes suggest he'll have no trouble handling it.
4th pick: #9 (Caprock Kid) (10-1) - He's racining for the first time since early November. Home bred went evenly in his first pair and has Lasix administered for the first time. Working above average and a threat at a square price.
