Top pick: #5 (Cort) (7-2) - Colt was bet down to 2-1 when debuting at Aqueduct on Dec. 13. He duel with the eventual winner until the 1/4 pole when he backed up readily. $260K son of "Horse Greeley" has been training sharply at Palm Beach Downs and trainer George Weaver will drop him into a claimer for this attempt. The presence of John Velazquez suggests they like his chances.
2nd pick: #4 (Brett Park) (3-1) - He enters off a career best when he finished second here at this level and distance on Feb. 1. Speed/stalker is an obvious threat and should be involved from start-to-finish.
3rd pick: #1 (Dixie One) (8-1) - Fla. bred raced both wide and evenly when debuting in the same last race as "Brett Park." Colt took a bit of betting action and is breaking from the rail. He can factor at a nice price with normal second out improvement.
4th pick: #7 (Awesome Union) (4-1) - He exits the same last race as both 'Brett' & 'Dixie' and was 1 1/2 back of the former and a "nose" ahead of the latter. Speedy sort will take them as far as he can.
5th pick: #3 (Complacent) (10-1) - Debuting son of "Tiznow" cost $155K and debuts for a $50K tag. Barn (Graham Motion) is having a tough meet but is much better than it's local record. He's capable first out (18%).
