Top pick: #5 (ARTEMUS COALMINE) (5-2) - Grey colt is cutting back in distance after tiring at this level going a mile Jan. 16. It was his first start in seven weeks and the high-octane barn of Kirk Ziadie brings him back quickly.
2nd pick: #1 (Donegal Hall) (7-2) - Speedy sort moves to the rail after tiring last out chasing a swift pace while wide. It was his first off a claim and his connections bring him back quickly and have him drop some weight with apprentice Gaffalione aboard. Strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #8 (Pass Key) (2-1) - Lightly raced, stalker finished 3rd here at this tag and trip Jan. 8. A good effort, but was almost 5-lengths back of "Donegal Hall" with no apparent excuse. Can factor, but he needs to do better.
4th pick: #3 (Bea Wildcat) (6-1) - He's one of two entered by trainer Luis Duco and the pair race uncoupled. Stalker tired badly last out, but he was "bumped" at the start and was forced into a very wide trip. May grab a share at a big price.
