Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (TIZ THE LAW) (2-1) - If not for serious traffic issues at Churchill Downs in the G2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes Nov. 30, this colt would be undefeated. He missed by just under a length that day and has won his other three starts in a visually impressive fashion. The colt won the local Holy Bull Stakes (G3) at this distance in his seasonal debut Feb. 1 and enters this off a fine series of works at the Palm Meadows Center. He gets a slight edge.
nd pick: #12 (Ete Indien) (4-1) - He finished three lengths behind 'Tiz the Law' here in the G3 Holy Bull Feb. 1 in his first try going two-turns on the dirt. The colt exploded next out at the same distance to win the Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) Feb. 29. Very quick from the gate, he's working fast and last out, scored from an outside post like he has today. A very obvious contender.
rd pick: #5 (Gouverneur Morris) (8-1) - One of two entered by trainer Todd Pletcher, and the pair race uncoupled. This $600,000 runner from the Team Valor and WinStar people won his seasonal bow going two-turns at Tampa Bay Downs Feb. 14. Lightly raced and highly regarded, he's working fast at Palm Beach Downs and gets a test for his true talent level this afternoon.
th pick: #9 (Independence Hall) (9-2) - He won his first three starts by huge margins, but lost for the first time when finishing 2nd at Tampa Bay Downs in the G3 Sam B. Davis Stakes at this distance Feb. 8. It was still a solid effort and he ships from there off a very impressive series of works.
th pick: #1 (As Seen On TV) (12-1) - Longshot has been competitive in all five starts, and last out tired after chasing the pace of 'Ete Indien' to finish almost nine lengths in back of that foe. It was his first around two-turns, he's worked fast since, and breaks from the rail. He may hold down a minor award at a big price.
