Stalker has gone 3-2-0-1 at this meet and last out was beaten narrowly by a pair of today's rivals in the one-mile Davona Dale Stakes (G2) Feb 21. Working nicely at Palm Beach Downs for this attempt and this Pletcher trained filly gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #4 (Devine Aida) (7-2) - Since finishing second when debuting here in late Sept., this filly has gone 4-for-4. Speedy daughter of 'Unbridled's Song' enters off a pair of back-to-back stakes wins, one each on dirt and turf. Working fast and grey filly should be involved every step.
3rd pick: #8 (Birdatthewire) (3-1) - Filly has improved noticeably since coming back from a two month layoff in late January. Strong finisher rallied from far back to win the Forward Gal (G2) going 7-fdurlongs here Jan 27. She then missed by a "neck" in the one-mile Davona Dale Feb 21. She may have been best that day as she had some serious traffic issues at the break.
4th pick: #7 (Danessa Deluxe) (12-1) - Another stretch runner, she hasn't raced since late Nov. Filly has a new trainer (Jorge Navarro 28% with new arrivals) and he has her working fast at the former Calder facility. Blinkers are added and this daughter of 'Summer Bird' may factor late at a big price.
