Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (MARCH X PRESS) (7-5) - One of two entered by trainer Todd Pletcher, and the pair race uncoupled. Working fast for her first since Nov. 4, she was only beaten two lengths that afternoon facing males in a $200K sprint stakes on the Del Mar turf. A stakes winner at Saratoga Aug. 16, she meets a weak field and will be very tough to beat today.
2nd pick: #7 (Roses in the South) (15-1) - The main speed, she's a four-time winner and is three for six sprinting on the grass. All of those came acing weaker, but her ability to run a sub :45 half-mile makes her a bit dangerous at a big price.
3rd pick: #1 (Mrs Ramona G) (4-1) - She won her debut sprinting on the Belmont grass Sept. 24, but then raced poorly in a two-turn grass stakes at Aqueduct Nov. 4. Given some time off, she finished 2nd here in a five-furlong contest Jan. 10 in a race that was taken 'off the turf.' She has the rail and is a factor with her best.
4th pick: #2 (Treasure for Gold) (7-2) - The second of the Pletcher filies, she won her debut here at this distance July 2 and hasn't raced since. Training steadily, she may need a race before showing her best.
