Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (FLOWERS FOR LISA) (9-2) - From the Navarro barn, veteran gelding is working very fast for his first since Dec. 29. Speed/stalker has gone 5-2-2-0 since being claimed for $20K July 21 at Monmouth Park and has done fine things here in the past 9-4-3-1. Five-year-old breaks just off the rail and gets a slight edge in a competitive field.
2nd pick: #8 (Jay's Way) (3-1) - The morning line and probable favorite, he enters off a wire-to-wire win here going 9 furlongs in the $200,000 Sunshine Millions Classic Jan. 20. Back in top shape since coming of a six month layoff Nov. 6, he's an obvious win candidate with leading rider Luis Saez aboard.
3rd pick: #9 (Tough Customer) (10-1) - Longshot has little early speed and his outside post is of little help. That said, veteran almost always makes a late run and has a fine local record 6-3-1-1. He goes first off a Mike Maker claim (15%) and Jose Ortiz is signed on. Late threat.
4th pick: #1 (Flashy Jewel) (12-1) - Old timer has the rail and some early speed. He was in top shape here a year ago but has been a bit sub par lately. A stakes winner in the past, he had trouble at the start here Jan. 12, but had finished a fine second to 'Flowers For Lisa' Dec. 2.
