The level and distance are fine as is his outside draw, and I give him a slight edge.
2nd pick: #3 (Guy Caballero) (7-2) - He's been on the sidelines since Nov. 10 when Jorge Navarro claimed him for $35,000. He hasn't won on the dirt in six attempts, but has been competitive on it facing tougher. Stalker is working steadily, drops a bit, and is dangerous if ready.
3rd pick: #15 (Beast Mode) (3-1) - Lightly raced and speedy, he's gone 4-2-1-1 so far, and was a three-length winner here at this distance for an $8,000 tag Jan. 18. He runs off a claim, moves way up in price, and is a serious threat from a fine outside post.
4th pick: #5 (Go Away) (4-1) - He's finished 3rd in two straight facing tougher in a pair of 'off the turf' contests. Well bred, he drops to a new for this attempt, and must be left in the mix.
