2nd pick: #12 (Brag Dude) (8-1) - He moves back to the dirt following a poor effort on the dirt Dec. 12. Competitive in his last three on the grass, he has early speed and may be in this from gate-to-wire if able to over-come his poor outside post.
3rd pick: #2 (Tropical Cognac) (9-2) - He tired badly here at this level and distance Dec. 9 in a contest that was taken 'off the turf'. He has some efforts in the past on the grass that make him dangerous and stalker draws a fine post.
4th pick: #1 (Cause for Pardon) (15-1) - Grey gelding tired in the same last 'of the turf' contest as 'Tropical Cognac'. One-run type has grass efforts earlier this year that fit with this group and he draws a ground-saving post.
5th pick: #3 (Bunyan's Axe) (15-1) - Lightly raced gelding moves up in class while stretching out in distance. He rallied to finish fourth of 10, beaten 2.5 lengths here in a grass sprint Nov 23 and is racing 2nd back off a 3.5-month layoff. New York-bred may hold down a share at a big price.
