2nd pick: #9 (Amira's Prince) (4-1) - Irish-bred is one of two entered by Bill Mott (the other is #2 NEWSDAD) and the pair race uncoupled. This colt has won both starts since coming from Ireland and one was at this distance. Much improved and a win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (Teaks North) (10-1) - He was an easy winner here over weaker in a $150K stakes for fellow Florida-breds last out, but he's a G1 winner in the past and that last win was his best overall effort in some time. Dangerous, and at a square price.
4th pick: #6 (Nikki's Sandcastle) (8-1) - Another who loves this surface(8-3-1-2) and this veteran gelding has more early speed than most. Working well and he's capable with his best.
5th pick: #2 (Newsdad) (3-1) - He missed by a nose a year ago in the 2012 edition of this stakes and his local record is outstanding (6-3-1-2). Working fine and a threat, but he gives away a recency edge to many.
