Top pick: #5 (GRACE HALL) - Daughter of "Empire Maker" had an excellent 2-year-old season, winning the Spinaway(G1) and finishing second in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1). She missed by a neck here to today's rival "Yara" in the Davona Dale S.(G2) here Feb. 25 in her first start since Nov. 4. Working fast for this and with Ramon Dominguez in Dubai for the World Cup, she has J.J. Castellano aboard for the first time.
2nd pick: #4 (Captivating Lass ) - Lightly-raced filly by 'A.P. Indy" finished third to "Grace" in in the Davona Dale without any apparent excuse. Still, it was solid try and trainer Kiaran McLaughlin has put a trio of fine works at Palm Meadows since that effort. Nice to see John Velazquez back on the re-ride.
3rd pick: #2 (Zo Impressive) - Undefeated grey filly from the first crop of "Hard Spun" has won both starts with ease and they've both come on this surface. Home-bred has a speed/stalking style and will be trying a two-turn distance for the first time.
