Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (SOUTH SEA) (3-1) - This gelding had serious traffic issues when finishing 3rd, beaten by two lengths at this level and distance April 18. It was his first here after shipping from the mid-Atlantic region, and he runs today fresh off a Saffie Joseph claim, a strong 39% winning angle since Jan. 1 of 2019. This consistent veteran gets top billing.
2nd pick: #11 (Front Loaded) (4-1) - Old-timer has banked just over $400K, and this stretch runner was 2.5 lengths in back of 'South Sea' last out. Most all of his success has been at Gulfstream, and he gets a rider upgrade to Edgar Zayas for this attempt. A late threat.
3rd pick: #8 (Atthepearlygates) (8-1) - He faces much tougher today off an easy gate-to-wire win by 9.5 lengths here at this distance for a $25K tag on March 18. By far a career-best, his early speed is dangerous at a big price if he holds his current form against this higher quality field.
4th pick: #10 (Quijote) (9-2) - This former stakes winner tired badly facing tougher March 25 in his first race in just over six months. Stalker draws a good post for his style, and a fast and/or contested pace would help his chances as he drops to a new low.
