Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #9 (SNAP HOOK) (5-1) - He enters off an even effort here at this level and distance May 1. The 5yo runs first off a Jorge Delgado claim, 10 of 47 (23%) since Jan. 1 of 2019, and he moves from the rail to a much better outside slot. He gets a slim edge in a contest where you should make sure to box your wagers.
2nd pick: #4 (Geonosis) (3-1) - An easy winner at this distance facing weaker May 17, it was his first race since Dec. 29. Moved up against much tougher May 25, he raced both wide and evenly while checking in 3rd. Back down in class, this 4yo is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (Third Army) (9-5) - Stretch runner drops to a new low in his first start since March 11. He's been competitive in four straight and has some of the best recent figures of any. Another win candidate.
4th pick: #5 (Sultry Samurai) (9-2) - This is a tough call as he moves to a good barn, but one well below the percentage of the suspended Jorge Navarro. He has a stalking style, has won two of his last three, and this well-bred 4yo must be left in the mix.
