Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (MR. MACFADDEN) (2-1) - A well bred gelding, he ships back from Tampa Bay Downs where he broke his maiden by 5.5 lengths in gate-to-wire style going 8.5 furlongs Jan. 11. It was his first race for leading trainer Navarro and he has him very conservatively spotted in his first facing winners. He gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #3 (Spa Jazz) (5-2) - A New York-bred 4yo, he's dropping to a new low and does so while switching from turf to dirt. In shape, he has more positional speed that the majority entered, and is dangerous in this spot.
3rd pick: #4 (Dixie Mambo) (8-1) - Even-paced type is making his 5th straight start at this level and distance. The 5yo may grab a share at a square price with his normal effort.
4th pick: #1 (Gran Red) (4-1) - Competitive in his last pair, one run type has the rail and can factor with a patient ride. He did defeat 'Dixie Mambo' two back and should be making up ground during the stretch run.
