Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (EARLY ENTRY) (5-2) - Veteran gelding missed by a 'neck' here racing at this tag and trip Jan. 11. It was his first since Nov. 15 when the leading trainer here (Jorge Navarro) claimed him for $25,000 at Gulfstream Park West. It was by far his best since coming off a 13-month layoff in early May, and this former stakes winner looks set to pick up career win #9.
2nd pick: #6 (Tiznoble) (3-1) - This hard-hitting veteran has been on the sidelines since an easy five-length win going a mile on a very sloppy track June 21 at Churchill Downs. He was claimed that day by Ed Kenneally and returns today as a NEW gelding. Working steadily at the Palm Meadows Center, he's a stretch here threat if ready.
3rd pick: #8 (Mr Joshua) (6-1) - This lightly raced 7yo is very quick from the gate and is racing second back following just under a seven-month layoff. He was in very sharp form here at this time last year, and at one point he had won four in a row before the long absence. He finished a pace-chasing 3rd here Dec. 19 at this tag and trip and should be much fitter for this attempt.
