Top pick: #7 (GENE'S BLUE MOON) (4-1) - One of two entered in today's opener by trainer Ed Plesa Jr. and the pair race un-coupled. Filly rallied to win here at this tag going 6-furlongs on Feb. 6 and did so despite a poor start. In shape, draws a nice post at this trip, and she gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #5 (Paraguana) (6-1) - Lightly-raced and speedy, she was a visually impressive winner here at this tag on Jan. 16 to clear the 2l condition. Filly faces tougher and goes an additional furlong, but is a win candidate nontheless.
3rd pick: #1 (Guayana) (3-1) - Very consistent filly has gone 13-2-6-1 when racing on the dirt and she loves this surface (5-1-4-0). Stalker has the rail and must be considered a win threat.
4th pick: #4 (On Parole) (4-1) - The second of the Plesa runners, the two times she's gotten away with eary leads filly has finished first. Four-year-old has a shot if she avoids a duel with "Paraguena" in the first 1/4 mile.
