Top pick: #4 (LIVIN PEACE) (7-2) - One of two entered by trainer Ed Plesa Jr. and this filly has the best early speed of this field. Daughter of "Songandaprayer" set a swift and pressured pace before tiring late when racing here for a $20K tag on Jan. 15. Race was her first in just over two months and will be dropping to a new low in her second off the break.
2nd pick: #5 (Gene's Blue Moon) (10-1) - The second of the Plesa runners, she ran evenly in the same last race as "Livin Peace" and filly had a poor start that afternoon. That was her first race in 4 1/2 months and both of her career wins have come in her second off of layoffs.
3rd pick: #1 (Jessie Can Mambo) (12-1) - Filly drops to a new low after a pair of even efforts at this meet racing against tougher. One-run type draws the ground saving rail and is a stretch threat.
4th pick: #7 (Sherry Angel) (5-1) - She races first off a claim by Bob Hess Jr. and comes back 7 weeks later with a slight raise in price. Working nicely for her return, and a fast and/or contested pace would help her chances out.
