Top pick: #6 (SOLO ELLA) (6-1) - Consistent filly has gone 12-2-3-2 to date and is dropping in class after chasing the pace and weakening to finish 5th of 7, beaten just over five lengths facing tougher here Aug. 23. She draws a nice outside post in this small field and that will give this speed/stalkers jockey some early options. Has a shot at a square price.
2nd pick: #3 (Vanuatu) (7-5) - The probable heavy favorite, lightly-raced grey filly is taking a big drop in class in her second back from a two month vacation. She tired in her return race facing tougher and is brought back quickly by trainer Blaine Wright. Obvious win candidate, but at a very short price.
3rd pick: #4 (Chat With Me) (5-1) - No-speed type has been freshened up since late June and is training steadily for her return. Blinkers are added (a 20% winning move by trainer Delia) and filly should get a fast pace to rally into.
4th pick: #1 (Courtroom Kiss) (6-1) - She hasn't run in almost a year and will be racing on a synthetic surface for the first time. Working nicely and she goes a trainer change to Jeff Bonde (24% with new arrivals) and (19%) off of extended layoffs.
