Top pick: #5 (SCOFIELD BARRACKS) (8-5) - The probable favorite, he comes in off a pair of second place finishes at Del Mar, and will go first off a Mike Pender claim (19%). Veteran has run well in the past on real dirt and can take this with a repeat of his recent "poly" form.
2nd pick: #2 (Western Roses) (4-1) - Speedy veteran was a gate-to-wire winner last out at Santa Rosa, and is now four for 10 racing on conventional dirt. He breaks just off the rail and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Captain Beau) (10-1) - Longshot raced evenly while very wide last out at Del Mar after breaking from a tough outside post. He'd been more competitive in his previous pair, and today he breaks from the rail. Late Threat.
4th pick: #9 (Baby Tate) (12-1) - Speedy Boise invader has won three of six this year and is working very fast for his first since winning for a $5K tag in Idaho on Aug. 3rd. Don't just dismiss.
