Top pick: #6 (ROLLING TIDE) - Home-bred hasn't raced since Feb. 20 at Santa Anita, but is training fast for her return. Daughter of "Freespool" showed excellent early speed last winter and that's what usually wins these 4-furlong sprints. Small barn (Mike Pender 13% on the year) wins at a 20% rate the past 18 months when riding Pedroza. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Delilah Jones) - Filly by "Old Topper" has a pair of sharp local works showing as she runs for the first time since July 8 at Hollywood park when she tired after pressing a fast pace. Has the rail and this will be first race on real dirt.
3rd pick: #2 (Ventress) - Away since early Dec., home-bred races off a trainer switch to Keith Craigmyle and has a trio of solid works on the main-track at Santa Anita as she prepares for her come-backer. Think she'll be competitive in this spot.
