Top pick: #4 (BLACK N BEAUTY) (8-5) - Once classier veteran is one of two entered by trainer John Sadler and the pair gives the successful barn a strong hand in this 1 1/16th mile affair. Gelding has some speed and is wheeled back in 12 days after tiring here when facing tougher on Sept. 8. The race was his first since July 18th and Sadler drops him to a new low in price and has leading rider Pedroza aboard for this attempt.
2nd pick: #1 (Jay's Firetruck) (9-5) - The second of the Sadler pair, he also drops to a new low annd will be moving from the Del Mar "all weather" surface to real dirt. When last on a conventional main-track, he rallied to finish second at Santa Anita racing for a $12.5K tag on March 30th. Strong finisher is a win candidate this afternoon.
3rd pick: #3 (Teancum) (10-1) - Speedy sort runs second back from a 70 day break and he ran "rank" before tiring badly here on Sept. 8 in his return start. His fine early gear makes him a threat if he clears off without any pressure.
