Top pick: #1 (GANGNAM GUY) (7-2) - Colt is consistent (5-1-2-2) and just missed becoming a stakes winner at Del Mar on Sep. 2nd. He missed by a "neck" that afternoon in the $150K "I'm Smokin" stakes, and can win this if he takes to the real dirt.
nd pick: #5 (Hi Fashioned) (4-1) - Maiden has finished second in both starts at the recently completed Del Mar meet, and is working fast for this stakes. Fits on "figures" and this grey colt is a win candidate.
rd pick: #9 (Echo Zulu) (10-1) - Speedy gelding disappointed when he finished second here as a heavy favorite just four days ago in the $50K "Afflebaugh". This field is much tougher, and he moves from the rail to an outside post. He needs to better in this spot.
th pick: #6 (Hirschy) (3-1) - Undefeated (two for two) colt went back-to-back on the Santa Rosa dirt in early August and won the $64k "Cavonnier" stakes there in his second start. In the Hollendorfer barn, and leading rider Pedroza is aboard.
th pick: #10 (Willa B Awesome) (8-1) - Talented colt is working fast for his first since July 31st and first on real dirt. He draws a tough post and will need a "heady" ride for any shot at the top prize.
