Top pick: #3 (FLY HIGH) (7-2) - Gelding raced evenly at Del Mar on Aug. 23 for a $40K tag in his first since July 6th and he was claimed that day by trainer Doug O'Neill. Well-bred 4-year-old stretches out in distance, runs under the purchase price, and he showed this past spring at Santa Anita that he handles real dirt.
nd pick: #12 (Alkaray) (4-1) - He finished fourth of 12, beaten just uner 4 lengths racing at this tag at Del Mar on Aug. 23. Solid effort came in his first for trainer Adam Kitchingman and this gelding is a win candidate in this spot.
rd pick: #5 (Will He Amaze) (9-2) - Lightly-raced colt went evenly at Del Mar on Aug. 23 and was 4 back of "Alkaray" that day. In his previous start he was a length better than that runner and seems to be the type that will like this 9-furlong trip.
th pick: #11 (Ancient Stone) (5-1) - He chased and held well to finish fourth here at this level and distance on Sept. 6 in his second back from a seven week freshening. Nearing his best and trainer Rick Rosales replaces apprentice Nicolas with leading roider Pedroza.
th pick: #8 (Dickery Do) (12-1) - He comes off a career best at Del Mar on Aug. 23 and has worked three times locally since. Longshot must be left in the tri and super mix.
