Top pick: #3 (PATENA) - Runs for the first time for the IEAH/Dutrow connection after a private purchase following his last race. Colt finished second in that race to today's rival "Friesan Fire". That was his first start on real dirt after having showed good form on Woodbine's "poly." Looks set for his best.
2nd pick: #6 (Giant Oak) - He had a ton of trouble in the "Risen Star" last out and still finished a solid fifth. Colt had traffic problems at two crucial junctures, and certainly would have been closer with a "clean" trip.
3rd pick: #9 (Friesan Fire) - Logical selection and probable favorite goes for a sweep of the big races for three-year-olds on this circuit having previously won the "LeCompte" and "Risen Star". Has a flexible running style and the pace inside of him could be quick. Win contender, but is vulnerable at a short price.
