Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (STAGEPLAY) (5-2) - She's one of two fillies entered by trainer Steve Asmussen and the pair race uncoupled. A two-time stakes winner, she won the Silver Bullet Day Stakes here Jan 16 in her seasonal debut. Grey daughter of 'Curlin' was not as sharp in the G2 Rachel Alexandra Feb 20 after having a very wide trip. Working fine since, she gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #5 (Adore) (4-1) - The second of the Asmussen fillies, she's won two in a row this year at Oaklawn Park and has looked very sharp in both. Stalker has worked three times here since then and all have been very fast. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Midnight On Oconee) (9-2) - Consistent daughter of 'Midnight Lute' has been competitive in all six starts. Home bred has finished second in both the 'Silver Bullet Day' and Rachel Alexandra Stakes (G2) and should be involved from start-to-finish.
4th pick: #8 (Land Over Sea) (4-1) - She's finished second three times to her stable-mate, 2-year-old filly champ 'Songbird' in graded stakes. However, in her only previous start outside of California, she ran very poorly at Keeneland in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) Oct 31. An obvious factor if she takes to the surface.
