Top pick: #1 (FRIESAN FIRE) - The favorite in this past May's Kentucky Derby (G1) he did not run well in that spot or the Preakness (G1) next out. Apparently he had an injury that went undetected and he's been on the sidelines since. He makes his first start for trainer Steve Asmussen, is working sharply, and colt won three stakes here last winter. All set to fire off the long break.
2nd pick: #3 (Glamour Guy) - He finished behind today's third pick at Monmouth in a race he may have needed off a layoff. He followed that up with a fine second-place finish at Churchill in a stakes and look set for his best on a surface he likes (three for seven).
